It would be wonderful if, by just making the conscious decision to focus on the joy in my life, all those stress-producing, anxiety-provoking situations, vanished from my life. It’s like what I tell my patients, who are seeing me as their physical therapist for the neck or low back pain. It would be great if your pain went away as easy as turning off a light switch, but it doesn’t. It’s a process and so is this journey I’m on.
While I’m determine to create a space for myself and my readers that feels joyful, and like an escape from the craziness of life, I have to be honest as well. I have to be kind to myself and remember that this is a journey. I won’t always feel upbeat and happy. The benefit though, of this journey, is that it’s teaching me how to better handle those moments so that they pass smoother and quicker.
